Mauviel M'Heritage 1.2 mm 16-by-12-Inch Rectangular Roasting Pan with 8-1/2-Quart Capacity and Cast-Iron Handles

Mauviel M'Heritage "2.5 mm" roasting pan: know what you're actually getting
There's bad news and (sort of) good news on this item, the "Mauviel M'Heritage 2.5 mm 16-by-12 inch rectangular roasting pan." I purchased this through Amazon, and when the pan arrived, I could immediately tell there was a problem: not NEARLY heavy enough. My wife and I have a lot of older Mauviel professional cookware (2.5 mm), and it was clear that this wasn't the same stuff. I went to the trouble of measuring the pan thickness with a Starrett micrometer, and found it to be 1.15 mm, less than 1/2 the advertised thickness. Looking at the product number supplied with the pan (6509.41), and doing some research on the web , it turns out that this pan is from the Mauviel 150 series instead of the 250 series; that is, it should be more like 1.5 mm than 2.5 mm. Most vendors who sell it do so for about $400, which is reasonable; however the price I paid (thinking I was getting the thicker copper) was an unreasonable $509. I suspect that Amazon was misinformed on this one by their...

Emile Henry Flame Top 12-Inch Brazier Black

Bad quality control; don't buy from Amazon
It's clear from the condition of the Brazier that was shipped to me that Emile Henry has sloppy quality control. The cooking surface had obviously defective glazing, with small pebbles creating sharp bumps that will break off when cooking to expose the clay underneath.

This is the kind of thing you need to buy from a shop where you can check the quality before you leave the store. Now Amazon is telling me that I won't be able to get a replacement for a month. Great.

The price at Amazon is not discounted at all, so just go to Williams Sonoma or Sur La Table or another local dealer if you want Emile Henry cookware.

The Brazier itself it lighter than Le Creuset, which is a big advantage. And clay retains heat for very even cooking. It's a good idea with bad quality control.

Great cookware!
We bought this braiser about 9 years ago and have really enjoyed it. We never use it on the stove top over anything more than medium heat and have never had any issues with it. It cooks great. The best part is cleanup, though. It cleans very easily even after hours in the oven. It is strikingly beautiful and I highly recommend it

A steal at $50.00!
I got this from Amazon's warehouse for $50.00! What a steal! It's sturdy, durable; and I can't wait to braize in it! You can substitute this for a tagine. Food will come out well in either type of bakeware.

Danish Ebelskiver / Filled Pancake Pan - Cast Aluminum

mini and excellent
After getting a 7-hole ebelskiver while staying in my sister-in-law, I fell in love with the ebelskiver concept. I needed a smaller one to fit my luggage and I got this one with 5 holes. It's excellent. It does not stick (I always spray oil before the first round of ebelskivers) and it's actually easier to work with because you'll be managing 5 instead of 7 at once.

Circulon 8-in. Nonstick Contempo Skillet, Black.

Easy easy easy cleanup!
This is the third pot (or pan) I've bought by Circulon. So easy to clean and doesn't need to be pampered like special coatings do.
Love it.

Love it!
I bought the Circulon brand because I have a 5 qt. pot which I love. This pan I bought to make omlets with. The omlets easily fold over with the nonstick finish. Cleaning the pan is also easy - only needs a quick wash.

Circulon Elite Nonstick 12" Open French Skillet

Not induction compatible!!
I have to return this now because the phrase "18/10 stainless" only refers to the handle, not the whole pan. I have a full set of Circulon pans that work with our induction cooktop this one looks just like them. But this one apparently is aluminum (never mentioned in the product description) and it does not have the steel bottom needed for induction cooktops. For any other cooking method, this would be great. Circulon pans are great -- far easier to care for than All-Clad.

Nice addition
Start with this is a great product--cooks evenly and is truly nonstick and washable. I purchased this item to go along with set of 10. I also purchased the 12" frying pan with a top. Honestly, you do not need both since they are virtually the same pans. The slight slope of the side classifies the pan as a skillet and if the side is striaight, it is classified as a frying pan. If I had to do it over again, I would just buy the frying pan since it has a top whereas the skillet does not.

I purchased elite as opposed to infiniti even tho elite cannot go into the dishwasher and cannot be in the oven at a tempt above 400 to get the silicone handles (Note, you can put the tops in the dishwasher).

In addition to really wanting elite, one can make exceedingly good purchases--Circulon may be considering dropping the line for more jazzi colors like platnum etc. Amazon's price moves up and down so be sure to check the web like potsandpans.com

SO happy!
I have not had this item that long but as a initial thought, it is very well made!! I am a professional chef and i love it! The bottom has nice weight for even heating, the handle is sturdy.. I am really excited about my buy and i have cooked lots of great things thus far, no sticking or burning. Plus my 12" glass top fits perfect!

Granite Ware 0525-8 19-Inch by 13-Inch Oval Open Roaster

perfect size
I wanted a pot that didn't have a lid but was large. This is the perfect size pot. I was able to cook two slabs of ribs in it (I did cut them up) Clean up was a breeze.

NICE PROUDUCT
I purchased two of these to finish whole briskets in my Weber smoker. Nice finish that cleans up easily. Buy two of these and you can use one as a lid and you have a covered roaster pan! They make them with dimples on the handles so the don't slide apart when used in this manner. I will be buying more products from Granite Ware. Great value too!

13" oval roaster
We only used it one time for a roast. I should have gotten a little larger one.. I think I'll give it away!

Got it for $10 and its a good looking pan.

Used it only few times and I noticed that the bottom was not flat, the middle bumped out. Very annoying when frying eggs.

Berndes Milestone 11-Inch Square Grill Pan

Amazon offered this grill pan at a wonderful price.
I searched for years for a grill pan that would function as a stove top broiler, leaving grill marks on meat and fish. They were available for all range tops, but mine, which has a smooth glass top. I needed an absolutely flat bottomed grill pan. The Berndes Milestone is exactly as I would have designed a pan for my needs. It has the broiler-like ribs in the interior, but a flat bottom for the stove top. The pan is no lightweight, coming in at 4.5 lbs on my digital scale. Even though it has a non-stick interior, I think it cleans up best if a light brushing of oil is applied before grilling. I've pan broiled everything from filet mignon, salmon, hot dogs, to Jaccard meat tenderized chuck strips and everything has cooked exactly as I desired.

Does Not Produce Good Sear Marks
I have several Berndes pans that function wonderfully. However, the Berndes grill pan is not one of them. The problem is you cannot get an aluminum pan hot enough to produce good sear marks. Try as I might - I can only produce barely visible grill marks on a variety of foods with the Berndes grill pan. In contrast, my cast iron LeCreuset grill pan produces beautiful dark sear marks every time on the same burner on my stovetop. Additionally, the handle on my Berndes grill pan came loose after every use. The pan is not well made nor does it function well. Save your money and buy a cast iron grill pan.

Horrible Quality and Customer Service
This pan arrived with a defect and I contacted customer support (unfortunately, I did not use the pan within the Amazon return period).

After several unanswered emails to the customer service email address at the Berndes site, I contacted them by phone and they said they would send a part that I was to use to repair the pan. Bad enough that it wasn't immediately replaced, but I never received the part.

Most people expect higher-end cookware with a "lifetime guarantee" to have decent customer service, or some semblance thereof, but none exists here.

My first and last Berndes purchase was a complete waste of time and money.

Thunder Group 8 Inch Aluminum Nonstick Fry Pan

Great pans
I bought these pans a couple months ago and very pleased with them. The teflon coating is excellent and they are easy to clean. The only downside is that the handle is aluminum and you have to wrap a pot holder around it since the handle heats up. I will buy more when needed.

Just what the chef ordered!
This pan, and its companions, are restaurant-grade sautee pans with a very sturdy aluminum handle and slick, non-stick cooking surface. The bottoms are flat, heavy aluminum for even heat distribution. I added some rubber insulating grips for the two pans I purchased (8" and 11") but they are not really necessary in a commercial kitchen where everyone uses some type of favored insulating device from potholders to gloves, to dish rags.

Arguably, these are probably the best frying pans for the money. Don't waste your money on "brand names" and "endorsed-by" cooking stuff. All you get for your double, triple (or more) price is a thinner wallet. Restaurants do NOT use such overpriced stuff because they don't work any better. I've seen similar pans with brand-names sell for more than $150 and they cook no better than this pan. Stick with the simple things in cooking. The 8" model (the one of this review) cooks a marvelous omelet! The larger, 11" pan, which I also...

Vasconia 3.75 Quart Non-Stick Aluminum Caldero with Lid

Not great, not terrible
I've been married 34 years and only recently had to throw out my favorite 3.5 quart enamel pot received as a wedding gift. I use this size pot for everything from soups to rice, macaroni to mashed potatoes -- and I needed a quick replacement. I liked the style of the Vasconia pot, as well as the fact that it was non-stick.

This is definitely not a high quality cooking pot. It is lightweight and when it arrived there were already scratches around the rim where the non-stick surface meets the edge. Something that the photo doesn't show, nor does the item description state, there is an open release valve in the lid of this pot. I'm not sure how it's going to work for rice with that unwanted feature.

The pot does sit and cook well on my flat cooktop, so it does have that going for it. But it's lack of weight and thinness of the metal sides concerns me. I seriously doubt it will last for more than a year or two. Luckily, the price reflects the quality of the pot...

Good Value For The Money
Vasconia 3.75 Quart Non-Stick Aluminum Caldero with Lid
I feel this is a good value for the money. It is neither too big nor too small for my intended purpose.Seems well-constructed,has a glass see-thru lid which is a plus. The only drawback to this little pot it the open vent (which I didn't realize it had).I would have preferred a sealable vent to help keep the steam in.I also highly suggest using hot pads as the handles get hot enough to "brand" and blister your fingers. But all in all I think it will serve it's purpose well.I would recommend it to others and would not hesitate to buy another if need be.

good everyday pot
LIGHTWEIGHT POT FOR EVERYDAY COOKING WHICH I WOULD PURCHASE AGAIN WHEN THIS ONE IS PUT TO REST.

I use this pan weekly. It is easy to wield with the handle, and the non-stick is great. I just bought the 11.5" in the same brand because I love this one so much! My husband raves about it, too.

BergHOFF Scala 3.4-Quart 10-Inch Covered Deep Skillet

Great first, then all the grease sticks!!
At first this skillet works great, truly non-stick, very easy to clean, and heats well... However, within two weeks, only once that I didn't clean it right away (I waited for a couple hours), and all the oil stuck on the surface and it's impossible to clean that off! So now the pan always has a stick surface and I cannot clean it off. For the money that we paid it off, this is really not what I'm expecting!

Great saute pan!
I love this pan. Easy to clean. Heats evenly. Just a tip - do NOT touch the helping handle (the short tab opposite side of long handle) without oven mitts when cooking on the stovetop. I thought the little handle would be cool to the touch like my calphalon pan and I ended up burning myself. You don't need mitts for the long handle.

Sadly disappointed
I bought this pan in the summer of 2011 after moving into a house with an induction cooktop. The pan was fabulous for the first few months and then began to stick badly. Sadly, I don't believe there to be the perfect non-stick, induction-friendly pan. I still use it daily as I have not found a suitable replacement, but it takes a lot of soaking and attention to get it clean. The pan does cook evenly, and I love the depth and lid.

Chicago Metallic Non Stick Stocking Pan

Great Pan
This is a great quality pan. It is sturdy with a nice nonstick coating on it. I get tired of my kids worrying about who gets the biggest piece when I cut cake, so this solves the problem as they each get their own perfectly sized stocking.

Adjustable SS Roasting Rack

Could be sturdier and have another notch or two, but ok, otherwise
This isn't a bad rack, it just needs to be a little bigger and sturdier so it could handle all my roasting needs. As it is, it is too small for a large turkey but would work nicely for chicken or small roast. I will have to keep searching for a better one so I can more easily roast a large turkey for Thanksgiving.

Not stainless steel
This rack is not made from stainless steel. It is chrome plated steel and small diameter material making it very flimsy. NOT recommended!

It is stainless steel and that's what I wanted.
My previous roasting rack was chrome plated and after years of use the chrome started coming off. I didn't want to expose my roasts to that so I went with stainless. This rack is a little flimsy and could stand one more notch closer to the center. And the rods could be heavier, too. But I'll use it and be happy about it.

American 11.75" Grill Pan

Beautiful pan, heavy and well made
I love Staub and LeCreuset. I chose the Staub grill pan over the other because it was a tad bigger in size. It is GREAT for grilling meats to get those nice sear marks. You can use it inside the oven for a braise. Staub is well made and will last forever. It can be a little tough to clean up sometimes but I just allow it to soak in a little warm water and use a non-scratch pad for touch areas.

I would like to add that for practicality purposes -- I must confess that I really haven't used this pan as much as I thought I would after owning if for approx 9 months. I find myself reaching for the cast iron skillet to sear meats in order to sear all of it -- and popping in the oven to finish off if needed. If I want grill marks, I'll use the gas grill outside. This is just a personal preference and is by no means meant to dishonor the fine quality product that the Staub grill pan is. I would have bought a cast iron Staub skillet if I didn't already have a similar...

Enamel cracked
Upon using this one time, the enamel cracked. It's really too bad because it sears very nicely and was moderately easy to clean compared to other cast iron enameled grill pans

heavy pan
great pan, but wow is it heavy. you have to be careful not to damage your sink given the weight
