Calphalon Simply Calphalon Nonstick Hard Anodized Aluminum Egg Poacher

High quality product; perfect poached eggs every time
Very sturdy and well-constructed, the Simply Calphalon Nonstick Egg Poacher turns out perfectly poached eggs every time.

Things to remember:

1) Don't fill the water to more than 1/3 to 1/2 of the pan, otherwise the water bubbles to the top.
2) Bring the water to a very gentle 'bubbling' stage (ok I know that's not scientific, but I mean that don't let the water boil. It should barely simmer for the best results). Also time the poaching - the eggs cook faster than you think they will. A half minute longer and the yolk will solidify!
3) Spray the cups even though they're non-stick. Olive oil spray adds great flavor.
4) Anything larger than a 'large' egg will spill over - don't use extra large or jumbo eggs.
5) The cups are hot - pick them out of the poacher with care or the combination of the steam in the pan and the temperature of the cup could burn you
6) Lastly, experiment! I've added a small dollop of goat cheese / lavender salt /...

great poacher and excellent skillet
This poacher works great; the cups are good for Large eggs; the non-stick works if you butter the cups lightly; the glass cover allows to check the eggs without lifting the cover.

The skillet is a great bonus on its own; it is heavy weight and non-stick.

High qaulity product, worth the price.

A Very Good Egg Poacher
You cannot cook eggs in a microwave so that plastic gadgets sold should be melted down and reborn as sandals. This pan works very well. I would have give it a 5 if there had been an instruction about how much water to use and how long to cook the eggs for varying degrees of doneness.
