Chinook Plateau 3 Piece Stainless Steel Cookset

Nice small set, but...
I'd have to agree with the other reviewer. The set is nice and convenient for camping, and the bag seems to be of good quality, but the stainless steel is thin. The larger pot arrived bowed in the shipping carton, but was easily made round again with some pressure.

The set has no indication of what type or quality of stainless steel that it is, but I doubt that it should be at a selling price of almost $40.00. It should be more in the $20.00 to a $25.00 price range for the set.

Update - December 8, 2011.

I had to revise and downgrade my review from three stars to one star. My wife decided to test the new set out on our gas stove by boiling water in each pan. Each pan warped and deformed and now won't sit flat.

The copper bottoms are a thin coating that has scratched badly simple by being placed on the stove burner, and then on a counter top. These sets should sell in a Dollar Store at their real value of around $5.00.

Worth the money
You get what you pay for. These seemed expensive to me when I bought them. The quality is worth the price... In this case, you get a little more than what you pay for. Stainless steel with copper bottoms... for camp cooking... awesome.

Clever But A Bit Expensive
The stainless steel is pretty thin, but adequate. The "copper" plating on the bottom of the pan is a nice touch, though, as is the included cover. The set was a bit scratched in shipment, but it's serviceable. The size of both pans would serve 3 people without much problem, but capacity is limited. I especially like the dual use of the frying pan as a cover ... clever! Personally, I don't think one could find a more compact, 3 piece set. I'd recommend this set at $30, but $40 is bit much. The reader will have to decide for himself.
