A good steamer, but shop and compare.
Understandably, there is a lot of discussion in the reviews about steamers regarding the size of the pot that the steamer fits. But the discussion seems limited to the size of the pot's volume or capacity and this I don't understand. It's not the pot's capacity that matters; it's the pot's diameter.
This was one of the reasons that I bought this MIU "universal" steamer because the picture on the Amazon site showed a steamer with various gradations at the bottom that would fit pots with different diameters. This MIU steamer has three gradations and fits pots with either an approximate 6 1/8", 7", or 8 1/4" diameter. It fits fine with two pots that I have with different diameters.
This MIU steamer doesn't come with a lid. I bought it anyway because I took the chance that if the diameter fit the pots that I have, I would probably have a lid that fit or if I didn't I would buy a lid that fit or could just put a frying pan or tin foil over the steamer. Moreover,...

Bought this to have a smaller stainless steel steamer that would fit on pots of varying size. It was a good puchase and I use it when my large steamer is too big or also in use. It is pretty large as well and can hold a lot of food to be steamed. Handle is pretty long, but that isn't really a problem.
excelent quality
I just got into steaming leftovers so I wanted something durable. This is a quality product and fits various size pots so no looking around for pot that the steamer fits. Nice solid product that should last many years.
